From my tumblr:[" title=">:[">quote]Okay let's see what I can come up with.
• Multiplayer, focus on socializing. • Custom avatars • No real "need" for dungeon runs or quests like most MMOs, considering the focus. On the other hand, perhaps server admins could have the ability to design and trigger quests… • Instead, have lots of minigames. Competitions, for example, such as obstacle course flying races for pegasus players. For actual fights, don't go beyond friendly sparring. • Main overworld shouldn't exactly be really player-customizable beyond building and expanding a home. The interior of said home is way open for debate. All the major locations should be there for at least the primary server. • Overworld should be editable on the server side, allowing alternate servers to have different locations. • What's even the deal with full 3D? If at least the overworld is sprited, the game can stay very close to the show's style with lowered system requirements. The Gameloft game certainly did that right, IMHO. Thoughts, anyone? |

Sounds like a good idea.
But you don't smack out a good game over a night, it takes years in dev time with a competent team to get something like this out. ____________________ Broken layout got nuked. :v |

♥2148 ✿4708 ★52 It seems like the best system graphically if not 3D would be some kind of vector thing so you could have players be able to adjust their pony's proportions and what-not. It seems like you'd really to have a wide range of avatar customization in this case...
(No idea how to implement it, though ) |

Actually, regarding the 2D/3D thing, Gameloft uses 3D models for the ponies on 2D backgrounds. Even in the main town view.
As for range of customization, I think having all the usual body types (regular, foal, Carrot Cake, Cup Cake, Fleur de Lis/Luna, Big Macintosh/Fancypants, Snips, Snails) without further proportion tweak sliders could be enough, plus a whole bunch of mane and tail styles with one or two user-picked colors. Add coat and eye colors, eye styles, and the ability to upload a cutie mark or draw one in place, plus the presence of either wings or a horn, and I think you'd have enough options to keep everyone unique. Especially when you add accessories like sunglasses, DJ Pon-3's shades, hats, saddles... Unique things like Celestia's body and mane style, Luna's mane, Rainbow Dash's mane, the Royal Regalia, the Elements of Harmony, and the ability to have both a horn and wings could be available only to admins and mods. Yes, I included Rainbow's mane. You figure it out. |

Okay, I did some Noxico work. And more arrived for later today. Now shut up and enjoy your mockups.
