The latest El Goonish Shive had a panel that would have worked perfectly for a forum avatar.

It's actually worked so perfectly that it's gone well with every post I've made so far since equipping it.

Even though I don't have a proper avatar I'll still cover this

I wanted a new avatar, but really wasn't sure what to use. I went on safebooru and did a search for very_long_hair dress closed_eyes and flipped through the pages looking for something suitable... And I found this.

I rather like it.

Nei, from Phantasy Star II: Nei's Adventure. (So slightly younger than Nei at the time of the game, I think) It's kind of a poor-quality image, because I was too lazy to go into the game itself and just kind of took it off some website. >_>

PS2 is one of my favorite RPGs, and Nei is one of my favorite characters from it... not much more meaning to it than that. :P

Mine is Elk from .hack I edited back in 2005. I replaced the colors and the wave mark to make it as if that was my possible character. I have many variations of it with different background and such since it's sourced from a high res image. (It replaced the one Acmlm made for me back in the old board days. Which was Ludwig von Koopa with a Luigi hat)

上地流　空手道 (Uechi-Ryu Karate-do) is the style of martial art I study. I took the kanji for ryu (流) and changed it to a different kanji Ryu which means "Dragon" (龍, the same as the pendant I've been wearing forever, and I was also born in a Dragon year), added in the kanji for do (道) which means way, or style. Ryudo. I've been using this since I lived in Okinawa...sometime in 1997-1998.

As for my avatar...when Grandia 2 was released on Dreamcast in 2000, and the main character's name drew me in. Loved the game and started using the avatar on boards and such I was registered on at the time. I rarely change the image to something else, but I do change the image to a different facial expression every now and then. =P

A friend of mine was nice enough to draw my persona Ailure as a Team Fortress 2 spy back in 2008. However he was going for a semi-realistic angle, couldn't get it right and out of frustration drew a chibi image as a joke (most pictures of Ailure was rather stylized at that point). I still play Team Fortress 2 but I don't play spy as much anymore, I'm more of a demoman guy nowadays (although to be honest I pretty much play all classes).
