A week ago, I got a text from my mom saying that my little brother, Joe, had passed away from medical complications he'd been having since August.
His funeral was the other day, but I unfortunately had to miss it because of my work schedule. Knowing that many of us wouldn't be there, compounded with not wanting to deal with the trouble making side of the family, we held a memorial service for him just a few hours ago. He was only 21... He left us too early. Even though I finally have the closure, it still hurts. Have you guys lost any loved ones recently? If so, how did you cope. |

Ouch. That's way too early.
I've only ever lost grandparents in the past. That hurt pretty bad at the time. As for coping.. I just didn't face reality for a while. Every time, I just refused to face reality and shut myself away from it for a week or so. Helped let acceptance slowly sink in. The world could always use more heroes! |

Ouch....that's harsh, and as Gywall said, way too young.
In July, we unexpectedly lost my wife's mother. She was recovering from having a valve replaced in her heart, which that surgery went very well and her heart was doing well...but her lungs and kidneys failed shortly after and she wasn't able to recover. I was a pretty somber summer, as we kind of kept to ourselves and didn't say much to anyone or go out anywhere, nor did we smile much for a few months. It still brings tears to my wife when we're out and she remembers things her mother liked and such. Sorry Trel. ____________________ Sonnanja, ore no inochi wa toreneena!
