So yeah, I figured I should show this hack here, since I'm going to be involved into it 
The hack is an ambitious project where we plan to replace all the galaxies with custom ones, and even more, like custom music. We might also make custom objects if we give it enough effort... So far, we have several planets modeled with a quality close to Nintendo's models. Some are already playable levels, with enemies and all, like shown in the video above. Progress isn't very fast, mainly due to a lack of tools. But better tools are being developed, so progress will go faster and faster. If you're interested in joining the project, let us know
