♥2483 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by Trapster I have some fondness for Nicolette but it seems like cheating to go with a name so similar to my current one Maybe Caroline or Danielle? No particular reason. |

If you had pens in various colors, which one would you write with? |

♥2484 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by Liliana For general-purpose writing? Well, ignoring the fact that I'm so indecisive I usually have to use a pencil, a dark purple pen seems like a good compromise between professionalism and "flair". |

If you had no restrictions and it was a pure personal writing pen.. would you consider anything different than the blue-black standard? Also have you ever used a fountain pen?

♥2495 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by Emuz I dunno- my usual pen is black but that's more out of the fact that those are very easy to get for free. I don't really do much writing outside of rent checks and such, in which case I doubt color will have much effect on my landlord. |

♥2506 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by Gywall 3, of course. This might also imply that infinity = 1, which is an extremely deep result that you should go ponder about for a few hours. |

No, your math is wrong. 1 * 1 = 1. 1 * 1 * 1 = 1.
sqrt(2) * sqrt(2) = 2 "infinity squared = 2" "infinity * infinity = 2" infinity = sqrt(2) |

♥2507 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by GreyMaria This only works if you treat infinity as a finite number, though. |

Well, if you squared infinity to get 2, then infinity is clearly the square root of 2, as the square root of 2 squared is 2. |

♥2508 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by GreyMaria But infinity = sqrt(2) is a crazy result! Thus clearly you need to reconsider your assumptions. |

Well, so is infinity^2 = 2. |

So while you can't do math you excel at physics?
Where's the logic in that? |

♥2511 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by Gywall You say, as you are in the process of making it as difficult as possible. Posted by Liliana It's not like there's that much math involved... (well, fine, there is) And certainly theoretical stuff like "what is the mathematical nature of infinity" does not usually matter, at least. "What's infinity?" "Really big" |

Well, I guess some would say that infinity is equal to my shyness... or maybe cuteness. I don't know which of these it is. Maybe both.
On a related topic, isn't physics and history quite a strange combination? I guess you could calculate the path of a bone thrown at an animal by a Stone Age man, but... I dunno? |

♥2513 ✿4736 ★69 Posted by Liliana Well then you'll be glad to know that I'm only doing physics now Kind of hard to do both simultaneously once you get to the graduate level. Posted by Gywall I think there is something to this... |
