What is this "SimCity" everyone keeps talking about? I've had my head buried in golden poop for the last few days.

I was watching a video of the new SimCity early this afternoon and was inspired by it to play SimCity 2000. Then suddenly it was midnight...

I saw on the old twitter. I was tempted to dig up my copy of that as well. Comes with two benefits; already have it, and no "Server unavailable" :)

How did your city turn out?

I reached the point that I could cover most of the map with the city and consistently make enough money to do stuff... didn't reach the arcology stage, but it's not bad considering I haven't played in nearly 10 years probably :P

Been playing some The Binding of Isaac, thanks to Trelior.

It's frustratingly fun, surprisingly.

Just started up Mass Effect since I can read the text in-game text in 480p.

I like the story so far, but I don't like how the game options don't allow me to invert the X-axis. This is gonna drive me nuts.

I've been playing Beat Hazard Ultra (from the Humble Bundle) which actually runs exceptionally well on even my crappy laptop, and replaying through Pokemon Diamond. I find myself liking games that turn music into gameplay, though with Audiosurf it's a lot easier to tell what it's actually doing with it.

Today on Super Hexagon, Hexagoner Hyper mode...

Almost three seconds longer than I can get, not bad...

And I still haven't managed to do much better than that in (standard, non-hyper) Hexagonest, too...

The joke is that twenty seconds on the dot is APPARENTLY not good enough to get Triangle rank.

I hold one of the highscores on standard Hexagon. As of NOW, my Hexagon score is 92.17 seconds and my Hyper Hexagoner score is 41.50 seconds.

Highscore requirements for Hyper Hexagoner rest firmly at 49.48 seconds. Which is terrible, because this is the 31st place score, and the first place score is a cheater "named" "Pi" (with a score of 3141.59 seconds).

ONLY TWENTY-FOUR PEOPLE HAVE OBTAINED HEXAGON RANK ON HYPER HEXAGONER.

EDIT: I am now the highest-ranked person to fail to obtain Hexagon rank in Hyper Hexagoner. I hold the title by .47 seconds and was 2.48 seconds from achieving glory.

Just tried playing DOTA 2 since someone gifted it to me, and one of my buddies wanted me to try it out.

I dunno if it's because I don't like RTSes, I'm not good at MOBAs, or the tutorial just blew copious amounts of ass... But I found the game boring as fuck.

EDIT: Cleared stuff up

EDIT 2: Grammar? What's that?

Also added edit notes.

So I now hold high scores on three of Super Hexagon's difficulty levels and have beaten five of them.

God DAMMIT, Hyper Hexagonest.

My future is now Dwarf Fortress, since I have nearly slain the six-sided beast.

I just remembered that my downloads for Knytt Underground (PS+ Sale, 30% off) and Spec Ops: The Line (PS+ freebie) finished while I was out and about today.

I grabbed Knytt because I enjoyed Knytt Stories, and it was less than $10.

I grabbed Spec Ops, despite my typical abhorrence of the FPS genre as a whole, because everyone says it's got a great story and it apparently doesn't play like so many of the more obnoxious games on the market. Plus, it was free, so if I don't like it, all I have to worry about is the incomplete game among my trophy collection (not that it matters a whole lot, of my seventeen trophy-compatible games, only six are complete...) and it's not like I'm out anything.

I don't really enjoy DOTA 2 either, Trel, and I LIKE MOBAs.

I finally managed to beat Fire Emblem: Sealed Sword. Huzzah! Next up is Sacred Stones I guess.

I dove into Knytt Underground last night. Gotta say, it's pretty solid, although it's a bit of a departure from Story. I'm finding it hard to fully enjoy, though, because I can't read the text at all.

I swear to Cthulhu, every fucking game dev nowadays take HD as a granted. They make text fields so fucking small, but don't take into account that some people still use standard definition. I can't get into XCom, Knytt, or Dungeon Defenders because of this. I cannot wait to get my PVR...

Er...what's wrong with Dungeon Defenders? I believe you can change the size of the HUD and text if I'm not mistaken. I've played Dungeon Defenders for 300+ hours and had no problem with that.

I need to be able to read the options to know what's there. I kinda can't do that when the text blends into itself.

Oh, that sure is annoying. Only annoying.

The first example I saw of that was a demo of something someone told me to try. It were tricky, but not impossible to read.

The worst examples? Games optimised for 720p only, and have to be upscaled to 1080p where things get blurry again. I've seen that a couple of times.

So it turns out that Binding of Isaac's Epic Fetus is the most amazing thing.
