Let us never forget the pioneer of analogue and early digital photography.
There is a nice slide show here. And there is a nice video about the first digital camera here.
The world's first digital camera, invented by Steven Sasson of Kodak in 1975 ____________________ I don't give a flying feather |

Wow.. stored on mini cassette.
As a photographer I've used Kodak films, development supplies, and their other services over the years. While it's not a surprise that they are declining in importance due to the analog business, it's a sad they didn't fully advance in the digital market. That said, I doubt they are going anywhere. Even if they get bought out the brand will remain. (However it's bankruptcy protection and many businesses survive that mostly in tact.)The Dynamic Profile Administrator™"Never Knows Best" Note: if you can see this my layout broke. I want me one of those!
But personally, I think the big photo giants are being killed by mobile phones. :/ A lot of photos I see taken are all done via mobile cameras.. Mostly due to it being "handy" rather than carrying around a camera for a good shot. The world could always use more heroes! |

According to Wikipedia:
"The first recorded attempt at building a digital camera was in 1975 by Steven Sasson, an engineer at Eastman Kodak. It used the then-new solid-state CCD image sensor chips developed by Fairchild Semiconductor in 1973. The camera weighed 8 pounds (3.6 kg), recorded black and white images to a cassette tape, had a resolution of 0.01 megapixels (10,000 pixels), and took 23 seconds to capture its first image in December 1975. The prototype camera was a technical exercise, not intended for production." ____________________ I don't give a flying feather |

I'm not sure which was worse.. Valcion pun or Kiyoshi's image response..
Also, from reading further.. It's filing for bankruptcy protection as opposed to regular bankruptcy. It also seems to be joining the patent war between tech businesses. The world could always use more heroes! |

I used ilford paper and it's good, but Kodak is (or was) still the best. I think I only used their 35MM film too.
