Nope. Although, I've seen a few birds dive across my path and manage to escape without being hit.

I ride my bike to work, which is about two miles, give or take a few. So much fun during the summer.

I did that in Michigan. It was about 3 miles to school and work (which were the same place) so I'd ride there when it wasn't snowy. Sadly, in Michigan it's snowy a lot and difficult and dangerous to ride a bike. Detroit mass transit is a joke, I think it's deliberately bad so people will buy a Detroit-made car instead.

Here I just take mass transit. I've thought about getting a bike, but Seattle's so hilly and you have to ride it on the roads because people actually use the sidewalks in Seattle. So it'd be much harder to ride a bike anywhere.

I shudder when I saw those hilly streets in Seattle. And I had to do a double take when I saw people riding their bikes up those streets!

Around a month ago I was complaining about having to rise so early for work in the summer (4 or 5 am, depending on the day). The next morning I was rewarded with events suitable for a mildly amusing anecdote, when I skidded to a halt on the main road to allow what I believed was a cat to cross. It was an opossum.

Given how deserted town was at the time, I left the car in park after my revelation to allow the thing to slowly lumber the rest of the way across. Generally speaking, opossums suck, though I feel better for having not hit it.

If I'm not in school I often have to serve as a kind of family taxi, driving everyone around. I do get rewards for it - often it's money, but today I ended up getting two boiled eggs and a piece of watermelon as a thanks. o_O

So today I got a cup of soda (bug fucker, 52oz) and it rolled out of its holder because I failed to notice how top heavy it was. In anger, I smashed my fist into the center of the steering wheel, leaving me with a horn that wouldn't shut off. At the time, I was merging onto a super busy freeway and people gave me annoyed looks as they passed. I finally tore off the horn plate and disconnected the wiring (as I drove) and noticed some of the drivers that passed me while this was going on had slowed down. As I passed them, I held up the horn plate by the wiring to signify it was a malfunction...

Yeah, not a good day for me.

I realised my car is the reason I don't like September.. I've got my car's MOT testing coming up tomorrow.. Well, technically today by day number alone being after midnight here.

After that, There's Vehicle Tax due by the end of the month.. so it kinda adds up as an expensive month due to just those two alone. Hopefully, I won't need repairs to get through the MOT. >_>

People doing stupid shit is starting to become numb to me. What pisses me off the most is my boss doesn't fill up the tank so I can actually do my job without having to stop and wait at the gas station for 30 fucking minutes. On top of that, I told my boss about the issue my truck has and he hasn't done a damn thing about it. I probably can do something about it, but I don't feel like I should have to do that. Not unless I get paid for it.

I witnessed my first accident today. Before, I've always heard them once or twice, but I never actually caught it. This time I saw some dumb fuck texting when something in front of him happens that causes the cars in front of him to slow/stop. Dumbass slams into the back of them. Everyone was okay. I was right behind them when it happened, but I was able to avoid them.

Never had that happen to me. I'm glad, I have driven past many accident sites and in most cases it looked really terrible.

I've driven past, most recently a car fire. As I passed, one of the tires blew up and scared the living fuck outta me. >_>

I've seen that happen to a delivery truck. I heard people honk their horns and looked around, and then I saw the driver panically run out of his vehicle as thick smoke starts to appear.

I've encountered one happen before. I was on foot walking to a small store to buy some snacks while I had work on mine done, heard an almighty boom from a car crashing into a parked one.

Although, I've got my car booked for a catalytic converter replacement next week. Was expecting a nightmare price, but it's not actually too bad. It actually works out cheaper than buying the part and finding someone to fit it for a change.

I lied about that being the first time I've witnessed an accident. I forgot about the one I saw when some dumbass pedestrian was crossing when cross traffic had a green light; The lead car had to slow and then stop, while he leaned on his horn the whole time... the guy behind him looked away for just a split second (because I don't blame him, who starts going at a green light and then stops in the middle of an intersection) and slams right into the back of him. The pedestrian kept walking, and I stopped him and told him if he left he would be committing a felony. I was just talking out of my ass because it might have just been a misdemeanor but at least he stayed. I testified against him to the police. Arrogant little prick.

I have to say, KP, I read your post but can only think that pretty much every pedestrian does that here :P Of course, it's a dense major city with narrow roads, so no one has any justification to be going that fast or looking away from the road anyway.

The bicyclists like to do that as well. I see that literally every day.

Today the traffic was pretty terrible. But they all let me pass as if I was an emergency vehicle. And all I did was putting on my black overall to protect against the rain. Strange.

These days I notice I get complaints about my parking skills all the time. Especially when I drive to the supermarket.

I guess in one way it's funny, but in the other way it makes me think: is that really a gender thing? If so, why?

Are you one of these people that tends to park diagonally in spaces.. or pack with your wheels sitting on one of the lines preventing people parking in the next space.. Or one of those people that takes more than two attempts to get into a space?
