What do you do to fight it?

I have what doctors call "morbid obesity". It's a lot less scary than it sounds really.

Apart from a casual game of Wii Fit, I enjoy running. I have no notable skill in it yet, but soon I will join the national "Start to Run"-program. I am looking forward to it.

Sweet! I wish you luck and hope you stick to it!

First starting out on an exercise program is roughest for the first 3 weeks. Just keep to it and in no time, your body will be used to it. :)

This may change a lot by the time you are nearing your thirties.

Most people think I weigh too little. I just... don't really eat a lot.

I'm not obese, but my family has a problem with it. I'm actually underweight for my height but yeah, this'll probably change as I get older and I'll become large like the others in my family. OH WELL.

I don't do anything to curb it, either. In fact, I eat way too unhealthily to have lost 7 pounds during my Freshman year >_>... I dunno. I have friends like that. One friend is 90 pounds, but she wanted to gain weight so she could give blood. She ended up getting high blood pressure and heart problems. And losing weight. It's just how some people work I suppose.

I have high blood pressure due to obesity, bad physical fitness and bad stress handling. This bad stress handling also includes binge eating, which only makes things worse.

I'm half way through my 30s and trust me...metabolism has definitely slowed down from when I was 20. Have to work out a lot harder to keep the same weight. ;-)

High blood pressure and diabetes run rampant in my family... Which should probably tell me to what what I eat and all that jazz. Do I? Unfortunately, no, I don't.

I'm the kind of guy that can sit down and eat an entire frozen pizza, then play video games all day long. Key example: Today I woke up at 7am, baked my bacon pizza, ate most of it in one shot while watching videos and browsing the board, then I played Twilight Princess for eight hours.

I guess getting on the true topic... I'm about five foot six and weight in the neighborhood of 215 to 230. While I'm not a rolling tub of lard, like I feel some days, I acknowledge that I'm ever so slightly overweight. Like I said in the beginning of this sidetracked, half witted mess that half of you won't even read, I have some hereditary health risks I should be a bit more worried about than I am.

Freaking, you're tiny! Unless something really weird happened since I saw you :(

I used to be overweight, and now I'm healthy and active.

i used to be on the slightly chubby side in my early teens, but i lost a lot of weight in my freshman year of high school when i joined the wrestling team, and i've been slim (to varying degrees of skinniness) ever since.

exercise helps, but the amount of exercise it takes to work off a single big meal is a lot more effort than just eating something else in the first place. i like cycling, but that's does more for overall fitness than weight specifically.

i think weight has the most to do with what/how much you're eating on a regular basis. i don't have a great diet, but i try to limit myself to one shitty meal a day, or eat only half of something bad at a time. i lost 10 pounds over the course of 2 or 3 months a couple years ago just by eating a yogurt for lunch during the work week instead of having a mediocre supermarket sandwich. of course, i've gained almost 10 pounds over the past year by eating out for both lunch and dinner more often. i'm 5'8" and ~140 pounds, so your mileage may vary.

either way, huevos rancheros over a corn cake with sour cream and sriracha: mmm...

I'm lucky to still have a strong metabolism.

I think I might be losing a little bit of weight - my work trousers feel a little bit looser than normal.. I'd prefer to try an maintain my current weight.

I tend to get exercise by being on my feet at work, and walking to work.

I used to think this but even though I'm less than 120lbs now, I guess I might be a bit flabby in some places. Mostly the lack of upper body exercise has been causing me a lot of problems so being too skinny can be shit too.

i can't grasp eating as a necessity, although stuff like cycling and olympic lifting is compelling enough to make me want to go outside--but if I think about it you don't really need a lifting cage/bench for olympic events do you, and you can do pullups on rafters. I sort of like going to the Y, and taking the bus, and biking around town, so I think I'll continue with things as normal. I think I inherited a analog canon rebel dslr so I'd like to take some pictures to post around here! In the 10 or so years I've lived off the coast, I've always felt ambivalent and barely went to the beach or felt the ocean breeze. I missed out on adolescence because of my disability so I guess I just want to live--and get botox and look p moe. I'm conflicted because eye shadows are sort of neat but the forehead lines from stress have to go, no question.

The biking and powerlifting (and potentially yoga) are all to help me with my aerobics since I want to be a gymnast.

I never read The Great Gatsby, but I can't imagine a literary reference in my death could be a bad thing.

I'm 28 and my metabolism is still going as strong as ever, keeping me at 120-125lbs (20-21 BMI at 5'5") without any effort :)

But once that changes, I'll definitely have to start exercising and watching my calories >_>

My metabolism is a yo-yo. Sometimes I actually lose weight faster than I put it on. Other times I gain it. I walk at least 2 miles a day (more usually) and I try not to stay sitting for longer than an hour or so without getting up.
