Yeah I wanna put shading on my cartoons like Homer Simpson & Peter Griffin.

How do I go about doing that? I see a whole bunch of drawings that have that shade effect, I'm using Gimp 2.6. Thanks for any pointers...

For the outline ones, they've probably created a semi-transparent black layer, marked the outlines and moved them to where they wanted them. This layer would consist of several parts/layers since you don't want the shadow to be full size. Like, the whole shape. The second part of the shade layer would be fully transparent.

My order is probably messed up but it's something along those lines, I think.
