Serious question tiem
I've a computer here that I am supposed to install Linux on (because Windows has "weird performance hits that boggle down the machine completely..."). I've attempted to use the SSD as a cache as in the previous configuration, but of course support for that is brand new so finding distributions that actually do have the newest kernel is next to impossible and even if, trying to get it to work is... yeah. So I've been told to try it without the SSD. Do you think it's a good idea, or will performance take a too hard hit? This thing is supposed to serve as a virtualization server, so... |

Eh... last time I had my friend install the server via ssh (woo for ultra-laziness), and at the end he had the problem that some kind of /sys/ folder didn't create and couldn't be manually created either, so he kind of hit a roadblock there.
Now I've been wanting to try it myself. Who knows if I will fare better. |
