Have Nicole win the lottery so she can do a world tour.

That would be fun!

But alas, I don't buy lottery tickets :P

It's "the idiot tax". I'm all for it. I just won't play it myself. Which means I'm not going anywhere. Boo.

I'm in Ohio so I guess I'd be close to you as well Trel. Meetups are always difficult since it involves lining up everyone's schedules. The other part is finding a good place to meet that's most central. I would kinda of suggest we do it at something like DragonCon, Otakon, Origins, etc. Some big convention we could get rooms at, and also have some events we could do as a group.

Also remember to feed it regularly. Also, make sure there's plenty of salt in their diet.

I am lazy. My passwords are on my hard drive. I wouldn't be able to remember all of them otherwise.

I guess they are more safe here than elsewhere, considering the amount of password leaks I've experienced. :|

I base all my passwords off of a single pattern and hope that's enough to remember them while still distinct; though sometimes in sites I haven't logged on in awhile I have to guess a lot :P

I can never memorize passwords. I always have to write them down (thankfully, I live alone) or have my browser remember them for me.

I do similar. I have a list of my important ones that I'll forget. (Granted, some of it is written down in a mental code that I understand, but would take someone else time to figure)

Less important ones, browser remembers.. And zero-importance passwords tend to be foods.. so if they don't encrypt passwords, they'll know what I was eating when I registered.

After several years, I can at least remember some of them. But not all, unfortunately.

I use LastPass for storing passwords.

It has a neat (if slightly clunky) browser extension that handles generating/retrieving/saving passwords, and everything is stored encrypted in ~~the cloud~~ (lol). So.. I have one really long passphrase I've memorised which gets me access to every password I need, and I can log in from anywhere and look one up if I need it.

It's much more secure than my old method, where I would use one of about 3 standard passwords in most places (depending on the security I required), and some things had really long passwords I stored in a file.

Now there's no single point of failure - if something goes wrong with my computer, I don't lose all my passwords - and I also use different, totally random, passwords for everything. It's quite nice.

This fine bulletin board posting is best viewed using Netscape Navigator" 3.0 on Microsoft® Windows 95 or Mac OS 8.0, with a screen resolution of at least 640 by 480 pixels.

For some reason I've never really liked the idea of a password manager; I guess the "single point of failure" always bothered me, even though it is objectively probably better than a million much more likely partial points of failure... eh, might just be laziness.

I've done that, too. Nobody but me and my cats ever touches my computer (ok, Anya did once as a joke, posting at Kafuka as me) so I figure they're safe.
