And you normally have a small hole that prevents the bath tub from overflowing. And most businesses have sprinklers that prevent fires. It doesn't seem to be as widespread in homes.

I've occasionally seen wall switches that control the outlets in a given room rather than just the lights (my parents' house has a few). They aren't very common, though. Maybe Gywall's place has them.

I see them at like, light switches that control an outlet that you plug the lamp into, but most outlets used for like toasters and such don't have them...
