I wouldn't eat in school either, after I was old enough to get away with it (so basically high school). I'm food-shy (like being bladder-shy but with the other end).

People were amazed that I could go without food for 8 hours (although they probably do it in their sleep ). Sure, I was hungry at the end of the day, but I didn't die of starvation.

I would generally bring a water bottle to school. I'd get thirsty, and we weren't typically allowed to leave the classroom just to go to the drinking fountain.
