I've sometimes argued Phantasy Star as an example, but I don't feel like arguing with the PSO fans over this right now... So instead I'll be more controversial! Honestly Legend of Zelda did for me, since I've never been able to get into 3D Zeldas or touchscreen Zeldas (I find the latter totally unplayable) the series kind of died for me after Minish Cap- but I haven't played A Link Between Worlds yet, so I can't judge the series dead yet. :P
