It'd be tetris in ascii, and you'd have to raise your rotating and stacking skills early or you're boned later.
Totally. Oh, and you'd have a pet T block and stuff, and you'd get wands of polymorph to switch blocks in a pinch. |

I've seen a Tetris in PowerShell. They made it just to prove PowerShell could do games. Not even as a commandlet, but a set of .ps script files!
Which makes me think about roguelikes in PS. It would be perfectly suited for those. |

Actually Linux/GNU/unix has a whole bunch of (n)curses games. Actually there is a plugin for VLC that works with the console for video output. ASCII video is quite humorous. My first Linux install I had to wait for the X disk set to download (14.4K modem at that time). I had a text editor, irc-epic3, lynx, and a libsvga port of snes9x to kill the time. I went game shopping, and spent $70 on games (see >>4630), I found almost everything I want at the moment with the exception of Wind Waker.
My friend and I went to Clarion today for shits and giggles today, and stopped in at Gamestop. They had a copy of it, but it didn't have its original case (it was a DVD case with their retarded 'art' on it) or its manual... They probably only gave the guy that traded it in five bucks, and those assholes wanted $30 and change after the Powerup Rewards instant rebate. The other store I go to for games probably would've only wanted $10 since the guys that run it aren't greedy retards. I also tried finding it online, but the cheapest I could find it for was $30 and change after shipping, also without the case and manual... I hate people. |

I usually despise buying preowned to begin with, but sometimes it's the only way I find... My Wii itself was preowned, and the only reason I bought it was because it was the K-model (Gamecube compatible) and it was the special edition. It was offered to me because the owner of the store and I share a lot of respect for one another, that and I went to high school with most of his employees.
As for my preowned games, I got; Twilight Princess, Muramasa, Pokemon Colosseum, Gale of Darkness, and Paper Mario TTD since they were not available new. Except in Twilight Princess's case, it was a Christmas present from my brother, and he thought getting me a used copy of the original run would mean more to me than getting a new copy of the Nintendo Selects run... But in all honesty, he probably did it to save a few dollars. So far, the ones of them I've played of them (Colosseum, TP, and Muramasa) work fine. EDIT: Forgot to mention that all five used games have their cases, two of them don't have their manuals, which is alright by me. |

I tend to want to by my game new, unless it's out of print. A lot of the games I keep all the extra stuff that makes it unique. I still have some Atari 2600 game lists. Random tangent: I think we could benefit marginally from a mobile-friendly version of the board. I don't expect I'd use it often, but it is a pain to read on my 3DS.
Anyone else have similar thoughts? Doesn't have to be just this site - really anywhere you might access from some mobile device or similar paraphernalia. Also, interesting, my 3DS can spell "paraphernalia". E: Just caught Mario (SMW). Interesting. |

i have never felt the burning desire to post when on my phone
mainly because when im out i prefer to be doing something other than posting on an internet board as for game stuff fuck gamestop brick and mortar game stores all the way i dont feel bad for being overcharged on something there because i know it goes right back to the shop and theyre usually decent about stuff besides the store i prefer has a pop'n music cabinet i just wish it wasnt an hour away |

Well it gives you something to pass the time with when you are waiting on the bus and such. Sadly while I can surf and chat with my phone, it's... very painful. It's a non-smart phone so typing with it is a pain.
