NT 3.51 Adventures:

So, the second virtual hard drive is breaking. By that I mean errors ensue if I try copying a certain number of files there. Vmware says the file write fails when I have to extract files with 7-zip.

Let's see if I can try to get around this.

Well, Kaila's (1997 IBM ThinkPad) hard drive went kaput on me, so now I have to buy a new one :/ It's a shame that the BIOS is too old and doesn't seem to like CF-to-IDE adapters...

I was in a small accident last Friday, wasn't injured. Someone cut me off and had to make a fast turn down a road. Couldn't slow down enough and hit the curb really hard. Did about $1500 worth of damage. Insurance covered it except for the $500 deductible. The person didn't stop; I doubt he even knew I was there.

In light of that, I did a bit of shopping.
  • High-end dashcam (x2) One forward, one rear.
  • CPL filter for decreasing dash glare
  • LCD screen, for proper FOV setup while I'm in the car; don't have to take the SD card out with a sample video and keep going back and forth until I get it right. It'll be a one-time use, but I'll likely end up using it for a mod project soon enough. I already have some ideas. :3


About $500 more I didn't intend on spending. Though at least this'll help me in case that ever happens again. I really don't like this feeling, but now I am a bit more prepared, and that helps with the peace-of-mind thing. It's no longer my word against the law/insurance/moron.

You know. If you go to get insurance quotes, you might be able to barter for a discount with such a setup. As in the event of an accident, it would easily show who is at fault. :)

I'm trying to fix all the design errors I made during some months on a certain character. The amount of differences is insane, because I like to think my own mind can remember every detail, in the name of "don't trace it". In practice, design problems occur during the course of the time.

And no, it's not the Witch. That will be always drawn off-model no matter what. >_>
