Yoshiaki Koizumi has mentioned that Nintendo is working on a 3D Mario game. He also said that he as of now, he will not reveal whether the game is for the 3DS or Wii U.

Could this mean that, like Super Smash Bros. 4, this new 3D Mario will be for both the 3DS and Wii U? That would be pretty amazing. I'm hoping that this new 3D Mario is open-ended. I am also hoping it is Super Mario Sunshine 2, a Super Mario 64-like game (such as Super Mario 64 2, Super Mario 128, and Super Mario Star Road), or something completely new different.

While Super Mario Galaxy 2 is my favorite Mario game, I feel that a Super Mario Galaxy 3 would be milking/botching the Super Mario Galaxy series. I also do not want a Super Mario 3D Land 3/Super Mario 3D World 2.
