Efficiency. Let's say we have n users, where n is a real integer greater than 1. If you have an idea, you can either create a new thread and get x=1 new posts, or x=n new posts by asking each person a question based on that idea. Only one of these solutions will bring you victory in the KACS.

...I hope no one actually thinks like that, though. :x

IMO that's a good thing. Post counts should be an accurate count of your number of posts, not some random number people throw in there for shits and giggles. I never got why so many boards allowed admins to change the counts.
