I was used to an entite site being called a forum and the thread category slots were boards.

In the past year or so, people on Acmlmboard and ABXD called the entire site a board and the individual categories as forums.

Well, now I have become used to calling sites "boards". But Proboards and Wikipedia, for example, call the sites "forums".

So what do all of you prefer? The entire site being called a forum or a board?

What we post on is a board. Acmlmboard. What we post in are known as forums, or sub forums. Categories hold these forums.

So that's the way it goes. :P

I tend to prefer the AcmlmBoard method ;) (I come from a board which used "pinned" "topics", not sticky threads, heh :P)

I'm used to the Acmlm's Way. A board has many forums. But I've been to places where it's the reverse.

"Pinned" threads tend to confuse me briefly before I remember they're just sticky threads.

Plus this software was always AcmlmBoard, not AcmlmForum.

Applies to other software, too. There is no Invision Forum, ProForum, EZforum, or IkonForum, past or present.

Nowadays, however, I'm more used to "thread" than "topic", "sticky" than "pinned", etc. :P (still, I mainly saw "Forums" in the Sonic community, such as "SSRG Forums", "Sonic Retro Forums", etc. :P)

You're not alone. ;) It seems like they are used interchangebly throughout the internet. Same with "thread" and "topic".

I guess that's just what happens when you have all these interchangeable words in English.
