I think I need to step in here.

The nature of open source is that most people only put in what little free time they have, and hope others will donate fixes and such as we go.

Now, this thread/forum is open to any suggestions or issues you find. Yes we're aware that the code has some places that need serious cleaning. The 'full time coders' are all very busy with real life stuff so not much is going on.

If you would like to contribute the changes and fixes you've more than welcome. We accept Pull Requests, and worst case scenario, dif patches.

You are also free to not submit anything. That's your right.

However this/thread and forum is NOT for back and forth insults and discussion about what 'sucks' or the equivalent of 'your shit is awful, stop programming'. If it's not constructive than don't say anything. Don't rail the thread off topic as we use this as one of the sources for our bug reports.

Finally, the code isn't labeled for mainstream yet. It's got a lot of polishing and such to go. It can be used on a live board, but it's lacking any real easy setup process, and the code is still less than ideal. That's open source software for you.

So if you want to submit your changes, I'd love to look them over for possible addition to the main tree. It's also perfectly fine that you keep your changes to yourself.

From now on I'm going to ask all staff members to automatically delete off topic posts and to start issuing warnings.

We may now return to bug reports and suggestions.

Speaking of fixing, the stability of the forum is becoming worse than ever. But that's probably more of a hardware issue.

First I got a MySQL error and then Firefox failed to connect the server at least 3 times at 25 minute intervals or something.

That is not an AB2 software issue. That is a Kafuka specific server issue. We're aware, so you need to make any error reports when it is down. The issue will be resolved once a server rebuild can be done. Until than periodic downtime will happen from time to time. (Also this is a server issue not a AB2 software issue.. any further discussion should be moved to a new thread.)

Let me know if it continues to happen. The code is in a different place and doesn't interact with that part of the code. Could be a permissions issue as well. Let me know

This is for the software not Kafuka itself. This is a server issue for Kafuka specifically. Please do not use this thread for this issue.

It's known. Don't worry about posting error messages related about it being slow, time outs, and etc until after it's fixed. (The fix will require a data migration so you'll know when that is) The issue is on the physical server in which I have to wait for Bouche's schedule to fix it. Thanks again for reporting on it

If you get different errors than what you got before, please start a new thread about the server having issues just so we can keep it separate.
