I think I use the red version of it on Jul myself. I don't have a whole bunch of time so I don't go there often.

Oh, those are clouds not bushes. They just look that way due to the darkening of the image. It's 7-1's background from SMB2/USA in SMAS.. (my first Phanto connection indeed goes all the way back to 2001.)

I think I will leave this another night. We'll see what tomorrow brings on the theme changes 'express'.

Well, in Mario games, clouds often are recoloured bushes ^_~

OK, that was only SMB1 and SMB2J. But still. I wonder if that's why they never used the hill/bush background with the snowy palette (other than a few scattered levels late in SMB2J), because they would make it too obvious that they were the same image as the clouds.

Indeed Clouds and background bushes are quick similar in shape. :)

Next theme: Mario. Now this one is the second of the series that KP has converted to AB2 format. @'Acmlm' based this on Mario game textures. :)

The avatar and minipic come from the same time period, though the latter had to be altered (minipics used to be 11x11 instead of 16x16).

I actually used this Mario theme for a little while back in the day.

Going forward, we can apply these ideas to new themes as well now that the board supports it again. :)

The buttons apply using CSS trickery so it may not work in some rare occasions. (Firefox and Chrome both have been tested)

This theme does have a nice charm to it. The RPG images really make it shine too. :)

Next classic theme is Acmlm's ROM Hack Domain. Our version is another AB2 conversion done by KP. This was the style used on Acmlm's website that was on overclocked.org. The original was made so there was a board theme to match his website. :)

I do like this layout a lot, I think I used the initial AB2 version of it when I first joined Kafuka.
