Thanks to retro week, I decided to check out AIM. I'm actually shocked that it is still around. I'm waiting for a password reset email as I type this. Not sure if I'll get one...oh wait, there it is.

So anyway, how do you communicate with people, besides posting on a message board?

IRC, Twitter, Tumblr, DeviantArt, YouTube comments sometimes... only reason I have Tumblr/DA really is to contact some people in other communities :P

I still use AIM- there's two or three people I regularly talk to on there. (Actually, exactly three)

Other than that, Facebook chat for people I know IRL (in the same client I use AIM), IRC and Twitter for everyone else. (Well Twitter's just a general mix)

Wow, AIM has changed a lot. Also, it has ads now? Don't remember AIM having ads. Then again, I did use Trillian a lot.

Oh well.

Time to uninstall. Yep, that was fast.

I remember AIM having voice ads back in '05 or so...since then I almost always used third-party clients, often Pidgin.

My main non-board communication these days is IRC, followed by Twitter. For the less wired I use E-mail.

I have AIM for, uh, Nicole <_< >_> and I have Skype to talk with a few people, most notably Kiyoshi.

But other than that, I generally prefer IRC.

Just IRC for me. Never liked Skype, so I never had any real reason to get an account. I don't have a mic anyways. Though if it meant talking to my friends, I might give it a go some odd day. ;)

I never liked Skype/voice chat either. Hell, I don't even like talking by voice on a phone. Let me type, dammit.

I feel the exact same way. The reason I don't have much luck with girls is that reason as well. I hate talking, but get me on a text chat and I won't stop. I figure that I actually have a way with words when I talk to most girls.. but get me infront of one and I instantly mute. It's really awkward.

Same goes for my mother even, when I magically catch my mother on my dad's facebook messenger.. I end up talking to her a lot ore than I do on the phone. Weird.

I don't like talking on the phone either. I've used Skype before but it was mostly text chat. I rather type out what I want to say.

If I recall correctly, every official IM client had ads. Also, AIM had a message limit per minute. IM too fast, and it blocked you from sending everything for 60 seconds.

I use Trillian to connect. I still use AIM, but it's on a by-request basis for my screenname.

Otherwise, you can contact me via IRC, Steam or even Google Talk if you have my contact details for any of those.

Actually mostly the stuff in my profile now I use. AIM is my primary IM service. However I think it's idle 99% of the time. I also am connected on my multi-IM client to Y!, ICQ (thanks to retro week), xmpp.kafuka.org, and I do have FB messenger configured but I never ever ever turn it on. :P.

I mostly communicate on IRC and twitter these days.

I communicate mostly from Facebook & Twitter, I used to use AIM when I was deeply into ROM Hacking back in the days. I do have the AOL software installed on my PC but it's rare I log in. ^_^

I haven't logged into AIM in like two years :P (don't even think I remember my password, heh) Really have no need for it anymore because I find Twitter much more convenient ^_^

Facebook, Gmail, Google Chat, Texting. That's about it for online communication. It's a pitiful list, but that's just because I don't hang out online much at all these days. Life's been busy.

Back in the day, I was a heavy user of Windows Messenger. I recently found out that it's been stopped. While it's been years since I've used it, I'm still feeling a little nostalgic. :/
