I personally prefer MM/DD/YY followed by H/M/S. That seems to be the less confusing one

I'll use for filenames YYYYMMDD or YYMMDD but like you said needs leading zeros..


Same. Otherwise they won't sort properly, and October through December magically end up between January and February.

I tend to just use MM/DD/YYYY nowadays, although for a while I used the Japanese/Asian style (YYYY-MM-DD) :P Wonder why both America and Japan have to be different from the DD-MM-YYYY the rest of the world uses, heh

I'll use Y-M-D with leading zeroes for filenames and the like, and M-D-Y with no leading zeroes elsewhere.

I almost always use a 4-digit year though. It's the year 2014, not 14.
