Agreed. I always hated the hell out of the word yolo. It's not even a word, it's just really annoying.

People, five years from now: "What's a Yolo? What's a hashtag?" ;)

Jay-Z and Kanye at least have staying power in the hip hop world, Drake... eh, not so much :P (I see 10 year olds listening to stuff I grew up with in high school, like 311, Sum 41 and similar too :D Always puts a smile on my face, heh)

Yeah. And people use it as "justification" for doing stupid things.

Although, I heard the life expectancy among the so-called "Yolo-ers" is much shorter. Hopefully it brings the word out of usage much sooner.

I believe the proper spelling of that word is actually "#yolo". *shot*

"Hashtag". I hate that word.

I also get rather annoyed at the words "femme" and "fiance(e)". I'm like, speak English, not French.

Well, there's a difference between the old Norman French words that have become a part of English vocabulary, and the more recent ones that people mostly seem to use to sound pretentious.

What really bothers me is when people use masculine words as the default, to describe both men and women. Things like "man" and "dude". I'm not a man or a dude, dammit >_<

English is a a Germanic. And why I don't understand is why people pronounce "Nietzsche", for example, as "Neechee" or "Neech" rather than "Neets-shuh". It's ironic why English tends to butcher German words more than French words. Though Spanish words and Italian words are sometimes butchered more than Dutch words. For example, people pronounce the "e" in "Giuseppe" as "ee" rather than "ëh".

Obviously, all of probably know "hashtag" annoys me. All the other words, onlyif people abuse and overuse them in unfunny ways just to annoy the shit out of you.

English speakers seem to convert all final [e] sounds to [i] for some reason. Putting too much stock in the zany English spelling system, I guess.

Like, Mojave is properly mo-ha-vay, not mo-ha-vee. But everyone says the latter.

Yolo

Hate that word. One reason is because I don't believe that. And secondly, don't use it as an excuse to dumb things.

I see "YOLO" graffitied all over places now. What gives? It seems like society is hellbent on just writing "new" words everywhere.

Really? I always pronounced it "mo-hayv".

At mall kiosks I always see shirts that say stuff like that :( Or, they try to harass you into buying a new cell phone or some random bath salt that makes your skin even more beautiful

"Selfie"

This word particularly irritates me since it's an overused word used by a certain "friend" I hate. >_>

Really, that is enough to make me hate a word.

People who have to type "lol" into their posts. I was really bothered by it last night when I noticed it a lot over at Facebook.

Selfie bothers me a little. People are acting like it is a new "thing" to take a selfie, when in fact it has been around for a very long time.

Oh god, that's another horrible thing.

Well, unless it's done on purpose to look like an idiot. Who ever knows? :P
