Netbooks are awesome. Nobody seems to know or care that a 2009 netbook easily outperforms the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Apple iPad 2 and even the Asus Transformer Prime, people are all blinded by OOOH SHINY
Netbooks are pretty popular amongst the average user crowd here. Most people are happy enough with surfing and using simple applications, and don't need big beefy CPU/GPU for their tasks.

I don't think I would be able to use a netbook. Too much tf2.

Angry Birds (x86) is sold in the Intel AppUp store for netbooks. I played it on mine as well, all though I like it much more on a bigger screen.

Will there be an Angry Birds 3DS?

Am I the only one here that doesn't get why Homestuck is so awesome?

I tried giving it a chance, but I don't like having to wait two weeks for an update, then BAM! 20 animations/walls of fucking text in a row.

MSPA in general is terrible. I don't see why it's so popular, but I want to congratulate Hussie on his successful exploitation of some of the worst spergers and neckbeards I've ever seen. :)

Seeing what the Angry birds devs have said about Nintendo (not exactly kind sweet words), probably not. They didn't seem fond of the Nintendo platforms.

I can't see it making good use of the 3D feature..

@GM: Nah.

@Nick: Diffrn't strokes for diffrn't folks n' all that. I enjoy it a lot but I have quite a few nits to pick about homestuck anyway. I liked the music enough to buy a hoodie tho', but not enough to buy the t-shirt.

I only wish I had his idea first. Oh well, I have other neckbeard exploitation plans.

I always try to make my layouts look good on 1024 pixels of width, for netbook and tablet compatibility.
mSprout's layout does not seem to fit that (BTW do we have blocklayout?).

PSH WHO USES NETBOOKS LOL
I don't, and have plenty of screen space, but I don't maximize my browser window :P

I sometimes use the 27" (1920x1200) for fullscreen games and stuff, the browser goes on the 19" (1280x1024), using the full width (minus taskbar) and leaving vertical space for IRC, so it's usually around 1150x700 ... I'm already hating that trend towards increased font sizes and padding while 1920x1080 is getting common, but 1024 minimum width is still fine for now >_>

I always wondered how you manage to live with that.

I browse maximised, but I always have my bookmarks open unless I need those extra couple of hundred pixels.

I can't.. it's too small. The smallest device I use is my iPhone, and I still prefer a real keyboard. :)

I also have an iPad and a Galaxy Tab 10.1. (at least the touch keyboard is bigger.)

I'd imagine actually not maximizing my browser if I was using widescreen as well. I find Widescreen monitors a little awkward to surf on, while still very nice for a lot of other tasks. :p

i was totally trolling with the netbooks comment, but i actually have one too. i use an old aspire one as my portable karaoke machine. powerful enough to run pykaraoke, enough space to store ~130 gigs of songs, cheap enough that i don't care if someone pukes all over it and i have to replace it.

for legit computing and browsing, i have an 11" macbook air and a 27" imac. the air is humorously tiny-looking, but actually quite comfortable to work on when i'm out. that said, browsing maximized isn't appropriate on the medium-to-large displays nowadays. i'm of the opinion that 960px is the magic width for content when designing sites. hits close enough to the lowest common denominator and leaves a little room on the sides for any background flourishes.

as for font sizes, my eyesight has deteriorated quite a bit over the past few years, and being far-sighted as it is, i don't mind the trend toward larger font sizes, especially since displays are trending toward higher pixel density anyhow.
