What PC's did you own through the years?
What were their network names?

1994: 486SX 25 MHz, later 486DX2 66 MHz (BELLETJE, a lame Dutch pun on the Packard Bell brand)
1999: Celeron 400 Mhz (SNELLERON, another lame Dutch pun, later PATRICIA, the name of a girl I had a crush on)
2001: Celeron 700 MHz (MASTER-COMPUTER, after a Dexter's Laboratory episode)
2002: Pentium 3 450 MHz (CINDY, another girl I had a crush on. This computer was very experimental with lots of second-hand hardware, but really, I never had such a high frame rate on DOS games XD)
2003: Athlon XP 2500+ 1833 MHz (ATHLONNETJE, oh no more lame puns)
2005: Athlon 64 3200+ 2000 MHz (SLIMESMILE-XP, using my nickname by that time, later when Kawa sucked me into Japanese fandom MAHOUNEKO)
2008: Core 2 Duo E6750 2666x2 MHz (HATSUDENSHO, now SHIREN as my secondary computer)
2009: Atom 1666 MHz (CHIBI, my netbook)
2011: Core i7 870 2933x4 MHz (SHINKANSEN)

~1997: using old Mac computers to play little games like Blobbo Lite. What was funny was that, since I couldn't read yet, I was remembering actions based on their positions in menus or filelists :P Reminds me of those menus that don't stay open unless you hold the mouse button. Good times, good times...

~2000: family-shared computer in the living room. My sister and I spent many times playing Rayman videogames on it. And it sucked when parents wanted us to turn sound/computer off just because they wanted to listen to their dramatic news (kids think that the only good TV channel is Cartoon Network).

~2005: the first computer that was to be mine and only mine. Old salvaged laptop, ridiculous CPU, 2D-only video card, 6GB HDD, its power was laughable compared to the living room computer. But I was happy. No more parents telling me to turn it off because they wanna watch TV. And I could enjoy the power of an Administrator account.

Eventually mom was able to salvage some more powerful laptops, so that I could play some 3D games like Rayman 2.

2006: getting my first desktop computer as a Christmas present. Core2Duo E6300, 160GB HDD, man it was a beast compared to those laptops (and even to the living-room computer, which was getting old).

Since then I kept upgrading that computer with components I'd either buy or get as Christmas/birthday presents. The first upgrade was to replace the provided video card (GeForce 7300LE-- sucked balls) by something more powerful. I chose a Radeon X1950Pro mostly because it was one of the rare powerful video cards that fit in one slot-- Dell's microBTX case would prevent double-slot video cards from fitting in.

The Radeon X1950Pro was noisy. But I never bothered to get a silent heatsink for it. Mainly because I don't care that much about computer noise. If it really gets to be a problem, I can always raise the volume. Also, homemade attempts at reducing a computer's noise generally don't work that well. I remember dad trying to insulate the living room computer's case with cardboard, and well, it didn't work that well.

Eventually, after several upgrades, I could rebuild the original computer (with the Radeon X1950Pro of course) to give it to my sister, who was using an upgraded version of the old living-room computer at that point. That computer couldn't be upgraded anymore, mostly because AGP was dying.

And there we are, in 2012. I'm not a full geek so I'm not upgrading my computer a lot, only upgrades occur when I get new components as presents or when I need to play some video game my computer can't handle.

Oh this is easy. I'm going to only count my own personal ones, as the earlier ones are unknown to me.

2004-2008 Pentium 4 2.66Ghz - WinXP
2008-2011 AMD64 x2 2.4Ghz - WinXP /Win7
2011-Now AMD Phenom II x4 3.2Ghz - Win7

All three are called 'SEKRETNUKER' on the network.. All three are custom builds. The first one comes from a small IT firm that specialises in custom builds. :)

Then there's a cheap laptop I got for college work (and games during free blocks) which was horrible. It melted its own motherboard.
