Speaking of uninstallation failures, I had Microsoft Office 2003 on my 98SE virtual machine and I kept trying and failing to uninstall it  Ended up just dumping the folder in the trash and installing 2000 instead  "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

The best uninstall fail ever? ATI drivers. Once you go with an ATI Graphics Card, they perma-install the drivers so you can't use any other brand of graphics card. I found that out when I bluescreened every half hour even after installing the nVidia GeForce drivers. Each time, it cited a file with ATI in the filename.
Had to reinstall everything. Not fun, when your manufacturer's drivers CD is damaged and you have to find almost every driver manually off the internet. That always took me at least half a day to do. It's made worse by the fact that the wireless card driver had to be installed first, which required installing Windows XP's SP2 from a disk while using a 640x480 resolution. I'm glad that I'm no longer on the XP machine. The world could always use more heroes! |

I use Avast!, Spybot, and MalwareBytes on here  Always run scans regularly (although I've had a few OFFICIAL Microsoft files get false positives on Avast! which was weird  )"Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Yeah, MalwareBytes here too. My dad says it's always good to use two AV's. McAffee isn't any good either. |
