Hmm... for me it burned horribly... it stayed like that long after the wasp was gone... maybe an hour... One of the most horrifying hours in my life.

You know aloe vera gel would fix that right up? ^_^

Wasp stings do linger. They're more irritating than painful though.

Do you have any insecticide spray? I know they are toxic but they are very effective.

There's a bunch of bugs hanging around everywhere outside. They like to stick to everyone and everything. Very annoying.

If you think wasps are bad, you better hope you won't get stung by a bumble bee.

I don't think bumble bees lose their stinger.

Edit: Nope.

"Unlike a honey bee's stinger, a bumblebee's stinger lacks barbs, so it can sting repeatedly without injuring itself."

Copied from wikipedia.

My mom has a deadly allergy to bee stings. I never got tested because my parents are lol, and I'm always scared that I have it too.

My general rule: if frogs eat it, I probably hate it. Spiders, flies, beetles, crickets, worms, slugs...

Why do insects and arachnids like to sneak up on people? Wasps and spiders, for example.

I don't think they sneak, at least not all of them. We're just not paying attention.

Well, it seems like they do since they come out of nowhere.

And do spiders spontaneously generate? It is extremely rare to see spider eggs and spidercs literally come out of nowhere.

I've been in situations where there is nothing that be hidden and spiders come out of nowhere and there are no eggs to be found.

Spiders eggs are very small and delicate, they're like pebbles, and they lay about 800-1000 eggs in a sac. They try to hide them. I once had a spiders nest on my patio and I kicked over a pan and they all went scurrying. I saw about 200 babies and a few hundred eggs. It was...weird.

I've seen that before. The baby spiders just walk out of the egg sac. And they go all over the place like they're evacuating the egg sac.

It's because they aren't familiar with the outside world. They don't like the light, and/or they probably can't walk straight or something. That's why they stay hidden until a good age.

"Bad" insects are actually amoral, so they can't be "evil". Yet, the insects' natural instinct makes them seem evil since they sometimes attack without provocation, like a wasp stinging you while you're sleeping, for example.

But they only attack you if they sense movements or if you're being a threat. Even still, after you kill one it leaves pheromones that say "Dead wasp here, come check it out, enemies are here"

When I went to Alaska, there was one day when the mosquitos were very terrible. Alaskan mosquitos are about the size of a house fly. And they get aggressive, not even a large amount if insect repellent will stop them. Man, I had a whole ton of mosquito bites that day.
