Honestly you only need to know trigonometry for more advanced drawing tricks later on. You can get very far in programming with some basic knowledge in arithmetic (subtraction, multiplication, division... the basics that everyone should know!). The math involved isn't very tricky for the most part unless the task makes it necessary (like making a 3D game).

I know that. Different people prefer different styles.

Script-like languages are easier for me to understand.. yet some people have object-heavy stuff which goes past my brain and fail to understand a script-like language.
