Oh fuck. This cause Nintendo to go "bye bye". And this sorta reminds me of companies getting pissed at YouTube videos like SpongeBob YouTube Poops. It's becoming out of control. ____________________ Sunshine Realm Welcome to Aqmlm's, the only board with Al-Aq'mlmistrators! |

Philips isn't exactly known for quality, however I have a friend who got a Philips 24" TV for Christmas, and a few months later it had a smoking problem
Still, this is pretty shocking if it's true I'd hate to see Nintendo go the way of Commodore and Atari just when they're starting to turn around... "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Posted by ゼンガー・ゾンボルトPosted by Dragon Goddess Yep. We have a Philips microwave that is over 20 years old and still works fine. The patent shit is getting retarded. Someday we'll get sued for running a messageboard because some dumb company will have patented the concept of messageboard. Or something equally dumb. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

Then again, I suppose Philips only has a bad rep in the United States, considering the name wasn't in common usage until the 1990s (remember, Magnavox was and is an American division of Philips, and for a few years around 2000 they used "Philips Magnavox" in an attempt to bring more recognition of the name); there's also the issue of many of Philips' TVs and other electronic products, at least in North America, being made by Funai (a well-known Chinese manufacturer of OEM or store-brand electronics like Symphonic) which is not known for quality
Back on topic, even if Nintendo went belly up, I've said many times before that Mario, Zelda, Kirby, etc. would not go anywhere and would continue under a new owner (much like how I've said GM might die, but brands like Chevrolet would continue in the same way) "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Since are no longer legal in the United States (although people question Google of being monopoly), then now companies are taking a stab at each other with lawsuits. ____________________ Sunshine Realm Welcome to Aqmlm's, the only board with Al-Aq'mlmistrators! |

Well, that's pretty much some of the dumbest crap going. It's just like Patent Wars™ are the "cool" way to make money for big businesses.
Either way, if Nintendo did get crushed under it.. I imagine both Microsoft and Sony would hold out a hand to make sure they don't collapse out the market completely. Although, if that scenario came around.. I would hope for Microsoft - They have Rare.. who seem to be running dry without that Ninty influence. The world could always use more heroes! |

If Microsoft took Nintendo, then I would drop support for Nintendo like a rock. I hate the stupid shit Microsoft has been doing, and I wouldn't be surprised if they ruin Nintendo like they did to Rare.
Rare didn't burn out because of lack of support from Nintendo, they burnt out because Microsoft stifled them and forced them to make games for the goddamn Kinect nigh exclusively. I would be totally behind Sony picking them up because Sony is still an entertainment company that at least pretends to care about what its consumer base wants. |

I haven't bought a Nintendo system since the Gamecube, but I really feel bad for them now...

So uh, Nintendo is going down now.
Well, hopefully Sony will take whatever is left of the inevitable rump Nintendo as Trelior said. ____________________ Sunshine Realm Welcome to Aqmlm's, the only board with Al-Aq'mlmistrators! |

♥7401 ✿4467 ★2 I would say that most likely this is just a hardline to force Nintendo to the negotiating table if they win. Losing another percentage of Wii U revenue won't help Nintendo by any means, but it's quite a bit early to proclaim the end of time too... |

I wouldn't be so sure. After all they closed down the Nintendo of Europe HQ in Großostheim in Germany, so they don't seem to be going too well... |
