Well, you could just constantly beat someone and use a new one when one breaks. :P

Also, I wonder if you could hold lava in a vat used for molten metal at a steel factory? If Bowser has a party, he will need some lava for a hot bath.

I always imagined it as more like a cake inside a pie shell, with icing and things on top of the pie shell.
