I actually haven't been at parties since forever - I mean there's still birthdays in the family but I don't seem to get invited anymore.

I can imagine why. I get the opposite.
Invites, but such short notice I'm expected to just book a day off work for.. and then I know it'll instantly be rejected. There's a minimum notice period. The world could always use more heroes! |

And the others in my family were much more successful than me, so I really stand out there. Note that this is only the fatherly side that I'm talking about here. My motherly side is as a whole more understanding of my issues and troubles. As you can imagine, there is a huge rift between the two sides of my family, and I'm right in the middle. I can only say that, despite what I'm being told all the time, my mom wouldn't have been good treatment for me. She only cares about partying or flying away for vacation (while she's unemployed, at that). But I have others on that side that if I had gotten the opportunity to grow up with them, I'd have a much better childhood overall and not turned into that shy and timid person I am today. Even Gywall tells me I'm so much happier when I'm with my grandma. |

It's sad how both my parents are now dead  (my mom actually died 7 years ago today... dad died 2 years later of occupational lung cancer and emphysema (he did not smoke but he was an engineer/mechanic))"Miracles happen, when you believe..."
