I think distance isn't actually a big meltdown factor actually. I've seen close-up ones meltdown and fail.. and quite a lot. The world could always use more heroes! |

Now say the loop was emitting pure, ultra-bright light. Looking at it would most likely overload your sense of vision, damaging it and causing pain in the form of a burning sensation.
