"txt" is annoying. Is it really that much effort to type the letter "e"?
Probably. I mean, you need to move your finger for an additional keystroke. Try saying txt and text. They end up the same anyway.
"Txt" speak in general is absolutely infuriating to see. I get skyluigi's point; it's the principle of laziness and/or false sense of "coolness" to type that way. "lrn 2 txt" users? Fuck you. The English language has enough entropy as it is without you assholes adding your filth to it.

Also, "ain't" isn't a *proper* word. It's a word in the sense that it's used widely and often enough to justify calling it a word. What I laugh at is the group of dumbasses who don't know how to use it correctly. I saw a window decal on a huge obnoxious redneck truck that said "If it ain't pit, it ain't shit", referring to the pit bull breed. Well, asshole, you're right, pits *are* shit.

It annoys me when people talk in that way that seems cool to them, but not to anyone else, overusing words like "totally", "dude", "way", "whoa", "like", "awesome", etc.

Well, I use ain't.. but that's due to learning it off others. I'm most likely to use it in "That ain't fair".. or actually.. almost exclusively like that. >_>

I try to avoid "ain't" as much as possible...I really don't know why.

"Ain't" is a word. It is the contraction for "am not".

So saying "I ain't doing this" is perfectly correct.

However, "ain't" often gets used in place of other contractions. Saying "she ain't here" literally means "she am not here", which is not grammatically correct. "That ain't fair" would be "that am not fair". Would you say "that am fair"?

Come to think of it, "am" is a weird word in English. It doesn't annoy me, but it seems odd that it's only ever used in conjunction with "I".

Don't you think having half of its words end with "e" is weirder?

Oh yeah, the silent "e" at the end? And then peope misprounce the "e" at the end of German words as "ee" instead of "uh", which is ironic because English is a Germanic language?

I think "like" should be "laik" and "crane" should be "crein".

I think a better spelling would be "crayn".

But without silent E's, how would we name "Ye Olde Shoppe" type businesses? ^_~

Speaking of which...when I was younger I'd get confused by foreign words ending in E. Like "anime". I would pronounce it like "an-eye-m".
