♥226 ✿4708 ★52 And a lot of the "Fn" key stuff is stuff that doesn't need its own key (like, say, activate a projector)
Though I think it's a bit silly how on this keyboard you have to use it to access any of the Fx keys. |

Perhaps he's talking about the physical placement of the key. Perhaps it's just taking up too much space and making the ctrl/windows/alt keys smaller... |

Is a smaller key such a grave problem? 'cause my shift keys are the same size. The world could always use more heroes! |

It's not, it's just one thing GM picked from his list to complain about. I'm sure the list is larger than the bible, eh GM? |

Oh, come on.
If it were larger than the Bible I'd have to turn it into a religion just because. |

♥229 ✿4708 ★52 I only use AIM... though, it seems in the wider world instant messengers outside of Facebook and maybe that Gmail chat thing have pretty much died. |

Posted by LilianaPosted by Gywall Yes people use it. Although, I personally use Trillian over their client. I also have an AIM account which is mostly spambots trying to sell to me premium rate sex or socks as it seems.. which is pretty disturbing. The world could always use more heroes! |

I use Skype and Trillian (for AIM and WLM) I never use the chat on Trillian, and only really use it for email monitoring. My AIM list is empty as far as 'friends' that don't use other services goes, since the one guy I used to talk to annoyed me for the last time for being stupid. WLM just sits there with a thumb lodged so far up its ass it isn't funny, I have a few contacts, but no one talks to me (it's probably better that way). I used to use Yahoo through it until I realized I never get email in either account I had, nor did I want to deal with spambots that continually tried to message me with what looked like poorly devised info-theft scripting... I hate IM programs sometimes. |

Posted by TreliorI've got a fair block list of those on both AIM and Y! Just the Y! ones aren't much better than email spammers to be honest. Looks like they try messaging about any random combination until they hit something. The world could always use more heroes! |

2*2 is the twofold product of the integer 2 (2^n, for natural numbers)which is exactly 2^2; similarly 2+2 is the 2-copy of 2*n, i.e., 2*2. I feel as though I should start with saying 2 is some "2-object) produced by making j-copies of some initial "1" element (1_0+...+1_j) and inductively building up addition, multiplication and exponentiation, but all I can think it'd show is that adding, multiplying or exponentiating such a 2-object would all be equivalent, which doesn't really hold in general (for n=3, 2+2+2 equals 2*3 but not 2*2*2 which is just 2^3, but isn't equal to 2^2^2(=16, incidentally), which is 2^^2(=2^(2^2)).
Especially for same object manipulations it's probably a good idea to think how (natural number construction with the successor operation) addition, multiplication and exponentiation (and then tetration and hyperoperations in general) as different orders of some sort of operator on a single object. Most people probably wouldn't like working with orders past tetration or numbers larger than 2--TeX doesn't work on this board, but you should compute some hyperoperations anyways (exercises left open: 2 hyper7 3, 3 hyper5 2)! But in general after 2 you're just fucked This is because of a symmetry called associativity that's defined into + and × (see field) but which ^ lacks. |
