I use listentoyoutube.com.

Sadly they introduced one of those stupid "download accelerators". Um, no, I will not take a .exe file. Every time I download something with one of those dumb helpers, my computer gets infested with malware. At least you can turn it off, but you have to do it individually for each video -_-

Not always. It really just depends on the video's quality. There are YouTube videos with very good quality that you can find.


Yes, but that depends on the source material since youtube compress the video when it's uploaded. It's the same with sound.

Resolution is also a factor. Videos with high resolution gets an overall better bitrate.

And I usually use DownloadHelper. However, it can't download 1080p videos and above, atm.

Also, some videos on youtube can't be downloaded for some reason.

DownloadHelper isn't a download accelerator, though. It's a browser extension. And it doesn't install any toolbars from what I know. You can hide the icon if you don't like to have it near the top of your browser.

I just have a small one at the bottom right. It's compatible with Chrome too.

Yeah, YouTube ads are basically an annoyance that has been around for years. The unskippable ads that are not interesting at all are the worst.

I don't find much of an issue with YouTube ads. I mean, just count yellow blocks on the popular channels' videos. And note positions. It gives you an idea when to quickly ninja-supress the ads on videos. They're not that annoying actually. What.. you miss like a half second of a video?

Actually, there's some ads I've clicked due to an interest in the product advertised. I maybe follow like.. 1% of ads I see?
