So those dreaded red-eye flights are safer, huh? I guess it's a trade-off. KILLER DEATH SPACE RADIATION OF DEATHY DEATH vs. sleep deprivation because it's really hard to sleep on an airplane.

What about cruises? If the engines stop working, then the toilets overflow. And then after everything is cleaned up, there is the norovirus. Thank goodness I have never been ona cruise. >_><_<

My parents cruise a lot, because they're rich farts who have that kind of money to throw around. They never mentioned to me any toilet overflows ^_~

I've only ever been on a ferry, like I said, to France. I did go to Disneyland though, so if it means I can do that again I would pick sea travel in a heartbeat.

I remember my red-eye flight from Seattle back to S. Florida. It wasn't that bad and I was able to sleep...even though I had to force myself into a slumber.

I was on a red-eye to Germany in '08, and I didn't get any sleep at all. Ended up sleeping most of the first day there.

And if you're staying at a hotel, they usually don't let you check in until late afternoon.

Happened to me when visiting San Francisco on a train that arrived early in the morning.
