I remember when websites like DailyMotion, Vimeo, and similar were popular alternatives to YouTube a few years back (at one point I had a DailyMotion account but later returned to YouTube) 
Before then, anyone remember those videos you had to download and use a QuickTime or RealPlayer on?  "Miracles happen, when you believe..."
