Part of the reason I'm sticking with Windows 7 until 9 comes out sometime next year ;) (fun fact: I used Windows 98 until 2006 as my main OS... if it weren't for modern Internet I'd probably still be using 98 and 2000 today, heh :D)

What in the... Where did you hear that? Windows 7 is an OS; it's software. It doesn't have a "chip" in it at all. You're probably very misinformed that there's anything in it that makes it "go slower" in the first place... I wouldn't give ear to what you hear about things like that...

You know, if Windows 7 was running slower than 8, then maybe you were missing some drivers (for the chipset, SATA/IDE controllers, video card, sound, etc.) ;) (this is experience, you don't know how many times I've dealt with that exclamation mark or red X in the device managers of Windows :P)

Last view: 3812 days 		Windows 7 may have limits, but it doesn't have a chip in it. Unless you dropped a chip into your computer.

However, I don't think that Windows 7 has speed limits. I know that you can't install a hard drive larger than 2 TB in a Windows 7 computer (if it's larger, you can only use up to 2TB of it), but something that affects how fast the computer runs? Not that I know of. (Though, if you're using 32-bit Windows 7 -- or really, any 32-bit OS -- you can't have more than 2^32 B (so, 4 GB) of memory.)

I have used a lot of windows 7 computers and every single one seems to be slightly slow.
