I had just started my senior year in high school, and our principal told us to turn on the TVs around second or third period... (there was a bunch of misinformation at first, but the day went on mostly as usual with classes still going on... we weren't sent home or anything)
Went home and looked at the news reports, then found out what had really happened...  "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Of course, I wasn't there- for the one time in my life, I exaggerated a slight illness and got sent home early, and didn't hear about what happened until my mother complained about how awful it was that I would do this today (and she could tell I was faking, too)...
I don't think the actual horror of the event ever really set in, though... |

I was about 15 at the time. I remember it was a Wednesday; I didn't have school, because of a doctor or dentist appointment. My mom usually has the radio going in the morning while getting ready in her room, and for some reason she didn't have it on. She was almost ready and asked me to turn it on for her. The first words I hear out of that box was "a terrible tragedy in New York this morning."
And then we turned on the TV, about three minutes before the second plane crashed into the other tower. It was at that point we realized we were under attack. We spent the day glued to the TV after that. Pretty sick shit. |

I honestly don't know. I was about four. I didn't care overly much then because I was a child and had my own childish priorities, and the not caring kind of just stuck through my life due to it not affecting me, it being a large percentage of my life ago and me having a problem with empathising with the tragedies of random people. Also I live in the UK which meant it was less explosive (sorry) news at the time ____________________ |

I was in line to cancel a few classes on my classes, so I was in the admin building. I heard some commotion and kinda got the idea that something was up. I headed back to my dorm and turned on the TV. Shortly after the first tower collapsed, the campus was locked down.
