An SMA4 editor? FuSoYa hasn't even managed to implement SMA2 support in Lunar Magic even though apparently some fragments are *kinda* there. Though I guess yeah, with the E-Reader levels and all the unused enemies (according to TCRF) that could actually end up being interesting as opposed to being "another one of those lame (S)NES ports". Would be funny if a GBA emulator actually implemented E-Reader support so you could release E-Reader cards as a bonus to your hack, maybe as a reward for completing a competition or something... (even though I have no idea what kind of format the E-Reader cards actually is, so... )

So er... I'm supposed to ask a question, right? With most of the economy being focused on the natural sciences, are there actually any jobs left that one can do who's good in humanistic sciences like foreign languages and the like? It seems to me that thise who major in classes like English more or less end up on unemployment...

I mean, a lot of people don't use their degree in their day-to-day career... and even in cases where it used there are often jobs, the overall question instead becomes "are their more jobs than people who want them", which is practically always "no".

Lots of people have different opinions on how broad the word "science" is. And they're all convinced their opinion is the factual definition of a word. This happens frequently with many words, and the recommended practice is to just control your urges to correct people.

Any ROM hacking forum will end up with a large number of whiny kids. I suppose the hope is that some of them will end up competent, but more likely you just get people who eventually mellow out and do nothing but still stick around. These sorts of people now make up nearly 95% of Kafuka's posting population

Well, going off of a half-remembered philosophy class, Descartes' argument beyond I think therefore I am was heavily dependent on the existence of a god who was not a deceiver. Unfortunately his argument there is somewhat less convincing than the argument for the existence of the self.

And even the self is not convincing insofar as it proves anything. If one accepts a probabilistic interpretation (as is typically done) of quantum mechanics then many events simply shift from "impossible" to "improbable", and the foundation of the world becomes chaotic, which was my earlier postulate. In such a case we could imagine a non-deceptive god that brings order out of chaos- but this would imply that things only work because that particular god wants it to work that way. Whether that is satisfying or not depends on your worldview; I find it somewhat unsatisfying as it implies that mortal beings can not actually probe the cosmos without divine intervention.

If one accepts the many-worlds theory of quantum physics, then things do not need to be chaotic as necessarily as they do elsewhere- but it does imply that all improbable events must happen somewhere. I tend to dislike theories where the ability to make predictions depends on the fact that you will be wrong sometimes- this is why I dislike the Doomsday Argument. (Also, I prefer to imagine an infinitely existing human civilization that overcomes entropy, because I'm an optimist)

Finally, regardless of physics, any prediction and observation is very difficult to definitively say whether it occurs outside of a self-delusion. It's not difficult to imagine a world where the music I'm listening to suddenly turns into loud violent beeps, and some girl wakes up in the year 43,000 AD on the Worldship Delta-9 and wonders about that strange dream she had that was a lot like what she imagined old 21st century Earth to be like, except they had the internet for some reason.

Why not give longer answers? I wish I could give long answers in my ask thread, but I haven't really had the type of question fit for a long answer.

Also, maybe long answers will help me get out of currently being first place in this month's KCS? I did not plan I would already have first place in this month's KCS.

Just be warned, the usual problem with long answers is that you do a ton of writing, and then no one actually reads it and you feel like you wasted your time
