I think I'll hack the thread topic a bit and do a quick resume of the past 11 years !
I would be fun and interesting to all of us to see where we were, where we've been and where we are now in life. Anyway, back then, I was going my college degree in Computer Science. Graduated in 2002 but had a hard time getting a job due to the post IT-bubble of 2000. Started a bachelor in Software Engeneering, hated it. Moved to a Bachelor in Mathematics, had A the first year, when to C and D by the second year. Dropped out but had my first year completed converted in a minor
Got a job at Sun Microsystems and decided to do a minor in East Asian Studies. Lost my job when we merged with Oracle Corporation (like 90% of Sun employees) Did a few contracts after and recently landed a job in IT for a company that specialises in city management software (taxes management, physical infrastructure, online services, etc) Decided to do a Master in IT Project Management over night classes. (Doing a Master or PhD over nights or weekends is quite common here) Tomorrow is a paid holiday, hell resumes on Tuesday up until June 25th, 2012 ! |

I'm KP9000. I've been lurking around Acmlm's since like 1999. Never really became active until a couple of years later, and I really wasn't that active (or bright, for that matter) during its run. I finally joined up with board2 after the split and stuck with it. I'm still there and will continue to support board2 until the end. I hope all of you dudes and dudettes have fun. It's great to see some familiar faces! |

FROM THE DESK OF MSPROUT well... since we last met in, i moved from my ancestral homeland of philadelphia to pittsburgh to attend college. started as a photojournalist, trained in that for 2 years and realized i hated it. so i then switched to written journalism. i had a few pieces published in some local papers and realized that i hated it. but i graduated anyway and began working as an advertiser. i've lost my job a few times but did some fun stuff for guys like ford and an insurance company called highmark. elsewise, i worked in the video game industry for a little bit as a journalist. got paid for a few things, worked with 4colorrebellion for a while and then got out of that rap. i met some really cool people there. then i showed up here and there on the internet, with no plan in mind. i almost moved to duluth, minnesota but ended up living staying in the steel city for a bit. that'd be my movements in a nutshell. heh. ____________________

here's my story so far:
- apparently had several large holes blown through my brain during puberty, blurring most of my memory of the thousands of hours i spent on message boards in high school. that could maybe explain why i started flipping out and eventually just disappeared. - went to college and got a degree in digital media design and went to a lot of indie rock shows. - went through a few flash and web design jobs. did various graphic design stuff for fun on the side. - got a different web design job moved from philly to to new york - did the graphics for this iphone game - fell into an internet time warp and landed here
