Just saw this on Twitter thanks to my friend Rudrake.
There isn't much known as far as I can tell. I'm not a religious man, but if you are, I request you pray for his family. This is a sad day for Nintendo. |

Rest in peace, Iwata. I honestly would never expect a 55 would die. Yamauchi died last year, however, he was around 80 years old so he lived a long life.

I really feel for the guys over at Vinesauce right now. Especially Jen, since she lost her mother recently to the same type of cancer.
They're in the middle of their charity stream that they'll be donating to cancer research, and then this news drops. I don't have words. |

Too young that's for sure. I had no idea his role in Gold and Silver. The big thing about G&S that I loved was the fact your could revisit Kanto and battle more gym leaders.

I started listening to this because I heard /v/ embedded the song and now I just can't even right now.
The "I miss you" at 5:10 hits me right where it hurts the most. KP: I hope they do get more donations with this. If we can finally get rid of cancer, then we won't have to worry anymore about deaths like this anymore.  |

Thank you Satoru Iwata for giving me the best childhood I ever had, growing up playing the NES. He left us too soon, my childhood was shitty but the NES helped me coped with it.

Posted by TreliorI don't think they are totally unprepared for Iwata being "hit by a bus" as they say in business speak, since he's been hospitalized several times before over it. I heard about it him being sick and in hospital few times in over the last year or so, but they never tried to publically make a big deal out of it.
