I dislike the up cropping of selfies as a general concept, so the existence anything that enables people to take them with less difficulty is something I disagree with. People used to just take pictures of themselves with little to no fanfare and for actual reasons, now they just take pictures of themselves on any occasion no matter how insignificant and it just comes off as really narcissistic to me. What are people supposed to do with all of these pictures of you that keep appearing online, literally serves no purpose. Also could we not a have picked a less fucking stupid thing to call them. ____________________ |

Actually, selfies have always existed. They were just called "self-portraits" by people like Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent van Gogh. Maybe they should have just been called self-portraits instead. Selfies fit well within this. Who needs a selfie stick to take a good selfie anyway? Just ask a friend to take the pic for you. The whole Selfie/Instagram fad is a piss-take and a typical example on crappy modern society.
Honestly, the original 'smartphone selfie' was MEANT to be taken with your hand, and now we have an excuse to be even lazier. Hell, read the book 1984. That's the sort of way life is heading now. And that prediction of what was going to happen was made in the early 1940s. Some sides to it have already happened. @StapleButter I agree.
