I just beat both Star Tropics games for Virtual Console.

I noticed a few scripting changes from the original NES versions to the updated Virtual Console rereleases. In Star Tropics, the Yoyo that is given to you by the C-Island chief was renamed to Star, probably to make the upgrades (Shooting Star and Supernova) make more sense.

In Zoda's Revenge, I noticed they changed "Tetrad" to "Block." At first, it made no sense... Especially at the end of Chapter 2, when Mike realizes the block he picked up after killing Yum-Yum was a Block. Up until the end, it never made sense to me why they changed it, until the C-Island chief puts them together, and he says, "After all, 'Puzzle' is my middle name." On the NES, he says, "[...] Tetris is my middle name..." My possible explanation is that Nintendo doesn't have exclusive rights to the name Tetris anymore, and needed to change it to avoid lawsuit.

The only thing I don't like about playing NES Virtual Console with the Wiimote is that the D-pad hurts my thumb after playing for so long since it's so tiny.

First of all, nice avatar.

Secondly, I own that game on the NES. It's really good, but holy fuck. Either it's really difficult or I suck ass at it. Probably both. I'm only on, like, the third or fourth map place. I hack away at the game every few months, but I'm never able to do much. It just defeats me. D:

Thanks, I figured a new avatar would fit the post. :P

Secondly, I own that game on the NES.
My dad owns both, and I grew up with them.

It's really good, but holy fuck. Either it's really difficult or I suck ass at it. Probably both.
The first one is just silly with how hard it is. The second is hard because there are actually decent puzzle elements to it.

I'm only on, like, the third or fourth map place. I hack away at the game every few months, but I'm never able to do much. It just defeats me. D:
I was stuck on Chapter 3 of both games for the longest time as a kid. I was stuck in the original because of the dark rooms in the fucking caves... Zoda's Revenge was tricky for me, because I didn't know what to do in the room with the snake pattern on the floor... When I figured it out, I promptly got stuck on the boss, since I didn't know that attacking head on was a terrible idea.

Shameless plug: I have an LP for both games on my Youtube channel... If you can put up with some bad audio quality, the walkthroughs are nigh perfect. :P

I have been playing the shit out of Mass Effect 3. I just beat it last night and I have to say I'm pretty stunned with how well it was put together. The ending was amazing. Not only that, there's enough of the prior two games to go back and replay them with different decisions made to make the third a whole new experience.

I love it when games are nonlinear.

I've been hacking away at Mass Effect 2 recently, actually. I beat Mass Effect 1 last week, I'm gonna beat Mass Effect 2.... probably tonight, I'm at the final loyalty mission before the final mission. I wanted to get a full save file before I beat Mass Effect 3.

Huh. I heard from people, friends included, that the ending sucked horribly. I dunno anything about it, no spoilers, but that's just what I heard. So far what I HAVE been spoiled at, it seems good, but a few things just make me sad.

I finally learned how to play Terraria in hardcore mode.

Now it's time to build a Hell arena with a bunch of sand and glass and fight the Wall of Flesh.

Well, for one, I'm not too hard to please when it comes to story.

Secondly, I'd like to hear what other people would suggest should be the ending, taking into account the rest of the story. There really isn't much else that can work and tie everything else together in the end.

Also, wanna sell me your ME2? ME3 didn't like my ME1 or ME2 career, so I had to start fresh and play through them all again.

It's always fun.

The image, although I was slightly slow on the mark and missed the perfect moment. :@

Oh god yes.

Sadly, The sims 3 is the buggiest in the series which is a shame too. I downloaded a quite few mods over time to "hotfix" bugs in the game, for the longest time beds would make sims unhappy due to buggy moodlets (basically those mood buffs). Not to say that annoying quirk where the time freezes up in the game, games turns unresponsive but things within the game keep moving (like plumbomb keeps spinning). Can be caused by a lot of various things (sometimes goes away on it's own too), so not fun to troubleshoot that one.

Ah yes. I've seen a few of those.

Most notable the timefreeze - which seems to trigger at specific times of day mostly - I tend to see it most frequently when the time hits 1am.. Then the game tends to bomb me with opportunities. :o

The moodlet bug hasn't happened to me at all. >_>

The best one is a form of amnesia one sim had caused by loading the game..

I remember playing Sims 3 a lot. I played it for hours on end, and my Sims just kept getting pissed off and pissed off. They wouldn't be happy at all and eventually this led to major problems. I finally looked it up, and yeah, it was the beds.

They're fixed when you reload the game, so it's not a huge problem, but it can be super annoying. I don't remember any other bugs though.

I've been playing FFIV DS and Tales of Abyss 3DS mostly. On Saturdays I raid in WoW and every now and then I will take a game of LoL with my guild leader. I also just started a let's play of Pokemon Red so that will probably take priority over the others till it's done.

Tales of the Abyss is pretty fun. Then again, my post layout might have told you that response. >_>

I should go play through again.. or another one in the series at some point..

I've been doing a lot of gaming today. I tried to record for my Star Tropics LP redux, but each time fucked something up, and I got pissed and stopped trying.

After that, I decided to start Epic Yarn. I couldn't help but get the feel that it was Animal Crossing turned into a Kirby platformer... Not exactly my kind of crossover.

I played some Final Fantasy, but ragequit when my red mage decided to actually kill an enemy instead of miss like he always does. I like my characters remaining at the same exp amount, and my thief died right before my red mage finished the fight. I had gotten the Crown and was on my way out of the Marsh Cave, in fact, I was nearly out of the fucking place.

Then, I played some Legend of Zelda. I beat the whole first quest. Took me just shy of four hours, and I only died four times. Twice early on when I tried getting the bracelet with only six hearts and the green tunic, once in level four against Manhandla, and once in level nine by a blue Wizrobe. The only thing noteworthy that I missed was the Red Ring.

I beat Mass Effect 2 finally. The ending was great, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I broke down and saw the Mass Effect 3 ending. *sharp intake of breath* Unexpected. Don't enjoy it as much.
