♥9372 ✿5053 ★55 Posted by StapleButterPosted by Sorceress Epele So you need to have the Facebook app for Messenger to work? Damnit, I was considering dropping the facebook app too... lately it seems their algorithm doesn't want to show me posts from my friends, but posts from pages my friends like instead. (I think it's designed to work for people with much higher numbers of friends than I have) |

I figured Messenger would rely on the Facebook app atleast for the auth part. Also how Messenger extends the Facebook app.
Apparently I was wrong although that has to be tested. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

Posted by StapleButterYeah. I originally found version 1.0. Later found the 2.0.3 one. It's a nice app that doesn't suck battery like a vacuum. I stopped using the Facebook app a while back. It actually uses more RAM than the browser on the mobile site. It also keeps running a lot in the background, even with things like sync and notifications turned off. My current problem is Google Play Services. There seems to be a *lot* of keep awake time. There is a workaround fix, but I need my phone to have Marshmallow pushed to it to gain access. CyanogenMod isn't an option either, no official support for my phone with it currently. There's just a buggy unofficial one right now. Though, I got a message from Samsung hinting that the Galaxy A3 may be getting the update in the future - It wasn't a direct no answer. The world could always use more heroes! |

I went and got myself a credit card.
I should now be able to afford more things in life, and pay them off as and when I have the funds. So much easier~ While I could use that to get my car repaired.. I want a shiny new car instead. The world could always use more heroes! |

I haven't been here in a while, but I remembered to stop by. I made this account a little over 4 years ago (5-05-12). Weird that it's been so long.
Things have been going well recently. A lot of family troubles that have been going on these past few years appear to have stopped. I've also taken up rock climbing as a hobby. It's great. |

So, I went out and did it: I own a MacBook (ok, a 2007 model, but still ) Right now it has an 80GB hard drive and 2GB RAM but might upgrade to 4GB (as well as a 320GB-500GB hard drive or maybe SSD)
Unfortunately AFAICT the machine won't run anything later than Snow Leopard without hacking ![]() "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

There's also a trick that allows you to run OS X in VirtualBox on a Windows or Linux machine, so I went ahead and put a Hackintosh in my VirtualBox (using both Snow Leopard and Mavericks, the latter mainly because I cannot run Mavericks on my 2007 MacBook ) Unfortunately I seem to have hit some kind of bug with the audio: seems to be about 2 or 3 octaves lower, might changing the graphic equalizer help?"Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Posted by Googie Facebook has turned crap anyway. No more party pics and funny statuses, nowadays it's all clickbait links and thinly-disguised ads (and some nolifes using it to spread their life over the internet, but even that gets drowned by the commercial content) although it seems the recent algorithm change is affecting that ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

Also ran into some slowness running Mavericks (and presumably Yosemite or El Captain) under VirtualBox: the lack of an accelerated graphical driver (it still at least boots and works though, it's a shame there's no VirtualBox guest additions for OS X because it's not officially supported)"Miracles happen, when you believe..."
