It's kind of amusing to see Windows butchered down like this. It feels almost like torture. I wonder if this kind of stuff is possible with Vista/7? I think Acmlm once tried his hand at that, wonder how far he got. |

Me (or better, 98SE2ME) was the best Windows for gaming ever. It's network admins that hated it so much, so no corporation had interest in it, that is why it failed. I have seen MS-DOS 3.3 on a 512 KB machine, with a Hercules MDPA, playing Ford Simulator with CGA emulation ____________________ I don't give a flying feather |

Me introduced lots of bugs (System Restore that stops working after September 2001? Seriously?) and no new worthwhile features that 98SE didn't get. |

Sure it sometimes helped you when things screwed up, but on the other hand, it also allowed you to restore your virus infection you used to have! |

| Normal User ~< Outta here. | This is why you write a virus that does two things: does something to make you want to System Restore, and implements itself in the most recent System Restore restore point in a much naster version. |

About it in Windows ME, first thing I did after installing was always "c:\windows\pchealth\pchsetup /uninstall". Why Me is clearly better at some points can be read here. It was a pain to set up a company LAN (the wizard was nice for simple home networks) and it was crashy, that's really all. The best 9X is a blend of 98SE and Me. Also, Me gave me 10 % higher scores in 3DMark. On top of that, 98 First Edition was the most crashy Windows ever, but everyone forgot about that. Just like how everyone forgot how bad XP was before SP2. Blaster/Nachi/Sasser anyone? ____________________ I don't give a flying feather |
