I used to run the old acmlm a long time ago but I didn't know that the forum software is still being active. I downloaded the master file on your bitbucket page but I kinda need help on installing it. I have a test website http://anime.social-networking.me/acmlmboard-2/public_html but I'm getting a lot of errors and I seem I can't login to the account I mad on the site and that I keeping getting this error {Unknown column 'tempbanned' in 'where clause'} {Unknown column 'nick_color' in 'field list'Unknown column 'nick_color' in 'field list'Unknown column 'nick_color' in 'field list'} {Unknown column 'u.nick_color' in 'field list' Unknown column 'u.nick_color' in 'field list'}, the INSTALL.rst file was kinda confusing I did every thing on it but I don't know if I did it right or not :(

you probably didn't import all the needed .sql files.

it's a mess.

yeah, there's a bunch of fields and columns you have to add to the main.sql and it's separated for some reason. either somebody wanted them to be extra features but forgot to remove the dependency....

nah, I guess it was designed that way to allow upgrading an older board revision.

interesting.

would I want to combine said SQL files that you were given into one megafile?

(I was having the same problem quite a while ago)

I see, looks like ill just delete the forum and re-upload it to the site. This time ill just get the SQL out of the way first and see if that will fix it.

you don't have to delete it, you can just insert the tables/columns as-is and it will be fine.

worst case, delete and recreate the database, but you don't need to delete the files

I might as well say that the host you're using flat out doesn't work with AcmlmBoard 2- it's picky with what hosts work.

I know x10hosting should work after fixing the SQL up, and some paid hosts that I know work are DreamHost and Digitalocean.
Hope that helps..

Finally found this place again. I just wanted to let you guys know that I got it working but I switched some of the code around to add in some of ABXD's code. I was able to find a host that allowed Acmlmboard to be installed too

This sounds ridiculous, but I do in fact recall one host that didn't allow Acmlmboards.

Because something about roleplaying.

The other hosting sites said the software was malicious :(

Reminds me of when I hosted Kuribo64 at bplaced. They shot it down because they didn't like seeing it grow. "Oh, someone spammed your board, we'll take care of it for you by penalizing everyone including you!" yeah, right.

When you're on a freehost, you're meant to stay a noob site.

Heh, I've not run a board since Taryn's old 2.1 board (The Left Mouse Button) :P I was staff at Jul for a time before the July 2012 incident however

Edit: Also, anyone else remember when there were a zillion clone boards on Funpic over a decade ago? ^_~

While I have done some Acmlmboard related stuff (BoardC and a cleanup of the Jul codebase), I have not run any actual board whatsoever.

(No, testboards in localhost do not count.)
