Not sure why I made a new account when I already have an account I have access to, but here goes - given I don't have any beef with any active users here now (and actually am willing to sort out any I have with anyone else), and made a dramatic entrance last time I made a rereg...
I'm Jamie. That one possibly bipolar person who happens to be a big Feeder fan. My name for now comes from "Rosie, I love you", referring to my current partner (it shouldn't change anytime soon if I don't end up creating artificial drama once again). |

I use Chromium, and Safari (being a Raspbian + iOS user).
I know this is supporting browser monoculture but honestly, Chromium is probably the best browser for running on a Raspberry Pi - Firefox 53+ doesn't work on ARMHF either, so yeah. |

I agree. DST is awful and serves no purpose in the modern day other than to destroy sleep schedules.
Thank goodness it only happens later in the month for me... |

Posted by fiver Ugly, yes. Moreso inconsistent though. About 30% of the base OS is still using non-UWP applications. The new features were in much older Windows versions and much better too. Vista is probably the pinnacle of these, WMM 6.0, Windows Mail, Photo Gallery, WMP11 etc. were so much better than the W10 equivalents (like you say, Photos eats your RAM). Oh, and Vista was at least optimised by SP2. Windows 10 won't even run on a processor lower than an i3. People call it "moving with the times" but some people cannot or do not need to afford a high spec PC for basic tasks! Oh, and you can't rip CDs or watch DVDs on W10 without the ugly WMP12 (which while first being introduced in 7, most people hated its poor UI so why keep it around?) - and for the latter you need to PAY for the fucking DVD player playback in the Windows Store. Speaking of the Windows Store. The only apps published in it are by Indian scammers, everyone else insane enough to make UWP apps use GitHub or something to publish them rather than that overly restrictive, scam-central "Store". Did they ever learn from Windows 8? No. They took Windows 8.1, made it heavy as hell (8.1 doesn't have so many issues on low end hardware compared to 10) and forced it down our throats. |

That explains it then. Windows 8 for example, is probably the best at RAM management (even better than Vista I'd say), because it was designed mainly for low end devices. Windows 10 basically took Windows 8, tried to make it work on the desktop - which was a failed experiment they failed to reverse - and gobbled up 1.5GB of RAM when idle as compared to Vista's something-around-400MB (yet Vista came with more features than any Windows OS did). Sure, Vista was bloated for the time and buggy only because of poor hardware that cut corners when cutting corners, and no one gave it a chance but it ran fine on most PCs that came out in the late 2000s. (Proof, I've run 3 Vista PCs from 2008-2009, and they all ran pretty good.)
I just don't get it. Vista pushed both hardware and software developers to basically 'fix their shitty ancient-standard code/corner-cutting' and then now because of that push for better and faster hardware, software developers have the fucking audacity to make you need 16GB of RAM for a web browser to run smoothly. Ugh... what has the world come to. |

Yeah. Come to think about it, FB doesn't actually force you to watch the video by shoving it in your face, unlike the majority of those news websites that have Taboola box ads and pop-up resizing videos everywhere.
It's a shame that the web has been so money/profit centric since about late 2012 or so. Basically when Flash started to become phased out, the millennial kids turned around 11-12, so that they could make a quick buck out of teenagers etc. much more easily in today's commercially-obsessed world. |

What font is that out of curiosity? Also, just a note, some of the themes (specifically the one I'm using for instance), don't specify a generic fallback in the text boxes etc. - instead it ends up as Times New Roman on my Raspbian 9 desktop.
Nice meme though. It does hint at a serious issue with me, which is the sad part, but it's pretty funny regardless. |

Yeah. It's more or less my fault in general for not installing the MSCore font package in Raspbian.
It's still nice to have a proper fallback, I noticed in many themes there's fallbacks only on the body tag and classes when necessary, and not in text area boxes and the like. |

I'm just here hoping the new Pokémon based on Britain has chavs, corner shops, heavy rain and some sort of tea related thing in it somewhere, to reflect fully what it's like here... |

Are you okay?
Can you update the Kafuka Discord link in the PORA? It's currently broken from what I remember. Is Dexter typing for you on your keyboard instead of you doing the work? xD Want my current Discord (I'm not gonna cause drama for once)? (rosyilu#4414) |

That looks amazing, honestly. Is it an actual theme selectable, because I might use it (even if the one I'm using is quite pretty - I forgot its name).
Also didn't know there was a theme-tampering URL parameter! |

There's not a tea one, time to start a civil war. My mum would probably join in with that war... she literally cannot seemingly go an hour without having a cup. |

Why not post outside of this thread?
Think anyone actually thought to check Jul to see if Nicole was around there? I saw her online there while she wasn't on here, so... |

Maybe you could consider what Kak did for his Jul fork, and separate themes into sections:
[Original Themes] (any themes specifically made for Kafuka) [Acmlm's Board I1 Themes] [Acmlm's Board I2 Themes] [Acmlm's Board I3 Themes] [Board2 Themes] [Jul Themes] [Miscellaneous] (other themes in the set) Speaking of Board2, maybe bring Stringency and Lesser Stringency (the blue variant) over here. The CSS files for it and images are fairly easy to get. If ROM hacking was to ever pick up here then it might help some people move over if they so wish to do so. Also, I personally really like the blue variant, it looks pretty decent to me, the orange one not so much. blackhole89 himself said it was meant to represent a graveyard, though the blue one actually represents an ice-cool life to me, and what he said himself with the orange one. On that topic, why not redirect Board2's URL to Kafuka (or better still, ask blackhole89 to provide a database/software dump first)... it's a long shot but I seriously doubt that he wants to keep it going or pay/manage a server that barely gets any legitimate hits... I mean, it does service for the existing projects that are already there so I don't exactly grind my teeth over the fact it still exists to this day but in general ROM hacking is a dying breed as proven with K64, this board's general lack of interest in ROM hacking compared to say Jul/B2/NSMBHD. I just feel even if we were to redirect it behind his back he pretty much wouldn't care too much (he's barely online anyway there so...) and it'd do him good to be able to move on with his life... I don't know. I sort of understand the dramatic story of how Kafuka came to be and why everyone left Board2 in the first place but I don't exactly feel I have a right to say anything given how I was in 2014-2016 when I was still there. |

I'll PM you if you want to know. I'd rather not list everything here.
But, I did have beef with a few users here, one of which already decided to give me a second chance with a grain of salt, quite literally given their username here |
